#171. Road Trip with Jon

I added a few more things I want to accomplish in the next 50 years and one of them was to take a road trip. We just happened to have a week off of work so we packed up the car and headed south!

First Stop: Louisville, KY

We checked out the Louisville Slugger museum. It was an awesome tour. The only complaint was that we couldn't take pictures while in the factory. I was neat to see real bats being made for players in the MLB. At the end of the tour everyone got cute little Louisville Sluggers!!

The big bat in front of the museum

Me in the batting cage (I only hit one ball)

Second Stop: Nashville, TN

After Louisville, we drove down to Nashville to see the Country Music Hall of Fame. I already posted about that, so I will just put up a few pics from downtown...

Third & Fourth Stop: Chattanooga, TN & Atlanta, GA:

Sorry guys, we didn't get a ton of pics at these two stops. The Chattanooga Choo-Choo was closed by the time we got there :( So we just kept driving and went down to Atlanta to the Varsity. I LOVE this place! The food was amazing and I loved the staff yelling "Whaddya have?!"
But we did go to Ruby Falls in Chattanooga. It was so beautiful!!

Fifth Stop: Charlotte, NC

I am such a nascar/racing fan. My dad raced before I was born and kept it up until my younger brother was a year old. I loved watching my dad work on his racecar and my grandma would take me out to the track to watch him race!

Anyway, we got tickets to the Grand Opening of the Nascar Hall of Fame! We saw Richard Petty, Jeff Hammond, Bobby Labonte and a ton of other drivers! It truly was a once in a lifetime experience and it was amazing! I can't even describe it, so I will just post pictures :)

Me and Jeff Hammond!!!

Sixth & Seventh Stops: Football and Rock & Roll Hall of Fames

These were our last 2 stops on the trip. We had a blast at both, but again, my only complaint was that we could not bring cameras into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Boo.
But we just happend to bump into Former NYC Mayor Juliani while at the football HOF (who would have guessed!)

#76. Frame our wedding pictures

I have had our wedding pictures for quite a while, but never found frames that I liked to put them up on the walls. Well I forgot we got a beautiful black frame that held 10 smaller pictures, so we decided to stick with black frames and now..... we have them up on our walls!

10 of our favorites

The picture on the far left is our engagement photo, and then 2 black and white photos from our wedding day. :)

#23. Pay off Furniture Early

We got our first apartment back in May of '09 and of course wanted to get brand new grown up furniture! So we went and picked out our set and we were thrilled that we didn't have to pay anything for a year. After the year, we would have to pay back the intrest so after the wedding we worked our butts off and paid everything off 2 months early! :)

Our pretty dark green couches and coffee table (my nesting area)

Our cute dining room table. The best part is it has a butterfly leaf underneath the table to make it larger when we have our families over!

#15. Country Music HOF (5/9/10)

Well looks like I get to finally knock off another thing off my list!!!

Jon and I went on a road trip and one of our stops was Nashville. We went the week after they got hit with a ton of storms and flooding. Some of the roads were torn up but we ended up finding our way to the Country Music Hall of Fame! :)

We had a blast! It was so neat to see the different gold albums, Elvis' car, outfits and the entire floor dedicated to Hank Williams.

Side of the museum. They had a ton of dumpsters around the city for cleanup crews.

Jon and just one of many walls of gold albums

The inside of Elvis' car. Yes that is a TV in the middle!

#19. See a Packer game & Tailgate (11/22/09)

For my 23rd birthday Jon & I got tickets to see the Packers play the 49ers at Lambeau! I never was a huge packer fan until we went to Green Bay last year for Jon to apply for the police department. We took the tour of the stadium and hall of fame. After that, I was hooked! We got really good seats (End zone, row 8!) and had a great time! It would have been better had we taken the time to learn about our grill but there is always next season!

Our poor excuse for a grill. The brats didn't even come close to being cooked!

Thanks Babe!!

All decked out with my Packer t-shirt, packer pj's, and my mom's packer scarf

I couldn't believe how close I was to Aaron Rodgers (#12)!!
They got the touchdown!

Nice butt Rodgers! :o)

# 17. See a Yankee Game (10/13/09)

While we were in Minnesota, my husband surprised me with tickets to the Yankee / Twin game. It was their last game of the playoffs and I was sooo excited to go. Jon knows how much I love the Yankees and I was really happy that he thought of that and got them! Our seats were super high up but I didn't care as long as we had fun and got to see the game. Oh, and the Yankees won the game and the World Series this year! :)
View from our seats!!
We were so high up that we were right next to the jumbo screen
Go Yankees!!
Out of nowhere, this guy jumps over the wall and onto the field and started running all around. It was hilarious! One of the rent-a-cops tried to grab him but he slid across the grass and the dude almost got away, but they pulled him off the wall when he tried to jump back over.
